Our sunflower field is managed to provide maximum food for the September dove season.  Strips are mowed in the standing sunflowers in August and mowed continually throughout the season.  Bare ground areas are also maintained to provide doves with a clean, open area for feeding and loafing.

Some sunflowers are left standing into the 2nd season to provide hunters with more opportunities to hunt doves in this field.

Hunters may also choose to hunt one of many agricultural fields planted in corn, soybeans and grain sorghum.  We have access to approximately 1,500 acres of farm land for dove hunting.  Some of these fields are left alone after harvest, which provides an excellent feeding area for doves throughout the second and third seasons.

Our 16-acre sunflower field is surrounded on 3 sides by water and gravel levees.  A pecan roost is a few hundred yards away.  The combination of water, grit, roost and food makes for an excellent location.

The agricultural fields we hunt are just a short drive from the sunflower field.  Weekly scouting reports are available for our clients who cannot make it up through the week to observe bird activity.  As the season progresses, the birds will change from one food source to the next and we feel that having a variety of fields and food types will better the chances that our hunters can find birds most any day of the season.

Avid goose hunters will find that they have plenty of options on our properties.  As many as 5 species of geese can be found in our area throughout the hunting season.

A large resident population of Giant Canada geese is established in our area.  Members can get an early start on them during the early September season and enjoy the regular Canada season from mid-November through January.  Hunters enjoy a 5-bird limit on Canada Geese during the September season, and a 3-bird limit during regular waterfowl season.

Snow, Blue and Ross' geese are present in the hundreds of thousands during the winter months.  It is not uncommon to see our fields covered with thousands of these winged creatures from November through March.  A liberal hunting season exists for light geese (snow, blue, Ross'), commonly called the Conservation Order.  During this special season, hunting regulations are relaxed and there is no limit on light geese.  During the regular waterfowl season, there is a 20-bird limit on light geese per hunter.
White-fronted Geese, also know as Specklebellies, can be hunted during the regular goose season from mid-November through January.  Specks are some of the finest tasting waterfowl you could ever eat, and hunting them is just as enjoyable.  Specks decoy more readily than do light geese and are a blast to hunt!  Hunters may take up to 2 White-fronted Geese per day during the regular goose season from mid-November through January.
