Swamp Tour!
The Mississippi Delta was carved over the eons by the changing courses of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.  Left behind are abandoned river channels and backwater areas that teem with American Alligators, River Otters, poisonous Cottonmouth snakes, Snapping Turtles and birds of all kinds!  Scroll down for more!
Swamp Tours will resume May 1
Join us as we take a 2-hour tour through a place that will turn back the clock thousands of years.  Boat through ancient stands of bald cypress and tupelo gum trees, drooping with Spanish Moss.  Slip quietly through black waters, rich with fish, reptiles and amphibians, and covered on the surface by green carpets of duck weed.

Get up close and personal with the many mammals that call the swamp their home.  River Otters abound in the fish-filled waters, Mink hunt along the shoreline, Beaver and Nutria rest on downed logs and mounds they make, Muskrats feed on grassy vegetation at the water's edge.
Bird life in the swamp consists of year-round residents like the Wood Duck, Carolina Chickadee, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret and Barred Owl. Summer breeding migrants such as the Prothonotary Warbler, Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Anhinga, and Yellow-billed Cuckoo fill the swamp from spring through fall.  Wintering residents such as the Double-crested Cormorant, Pied-billed Grebe, Mallard and others call the swamp home from fall through spring.
