Barred Owl

A young barred owl that was found in a lady's yard.  Unable to fly, this little fella was taken to a local wildlife rehabilitator and released later.Same owl, about 6 weeks later.  He was released on the same property where he was found. They are called barred owls because of the barred pattern of dark and light-colored feathers on their breast.Typical threat display; looking larger than you really are.  The Barred Owl is the signature owl of hardwood swamps.Fledgling Barred Owl
